La Ventana believes that determining the root causes of a mental disorder is crucial to treating it. Our team also believes that there is no panacea for mental illnesses since no two clients have the same circumstances, physical attributes, and health histories. Because of this, we emphasize individualized health care plans that provide optimal care for each client. Our treatment centers in Thousand Oaks and Agoura Hills are designed and maintained to provide a holistic environment that promotes healing, healthy expression of emotions, and personal and emotional safety.
Mental disorders rarely have a singular root cause. Mental disorders frequently arise from a combination of external stressors, traumatic events, physical conditions, and heredity. Complicating matters further is that mental disorders can spawn additional mental disorders or be symptoms of other underlying health conditions.
La Ventana’s professionally trained staff understands that mental disorders are chronic, life-long problems that require constant effort and vigilance from our discharged clients. To support the well-being of our discharged clients, La Ventana operates the La Ventana Alumni Association. The benefits of this organization include alumni events, private online communities, weekly community support groups, and Family Immersion Therapy sessions every six months. We also invite discharged clients to mentor new clients as they being their own recovery journeys.
La Ventana’s goal is to provide comprehensive and complete mental health care for our clients. To accomplish this, we favor thorough treatments that improve the client’s overall life and health while treating every detected mental health disorder. A combination of treating the symptoms, addressing the root causes, promoting healthy lifestyle choices, and fortifying clients’ spirits is more effective than any one treatment type on its own.
