Women’s Trauma Recovery

Run For Women, By Women, to Empower Women

Women face a wide array of physical health issues and environmental stressors that other genders do not experience as frequently – such as gender-related harassment – or at all – such as menopause. These gender-specific factors can lead to mental disorders. Because of this, La Ventana offers a Women’s Mental Health Residential program at our Thousand Oaks facility to help women recover in a safe, encouraging environment. This women-centric program allows us to provide specialized service that will allow women to resume their normal lives.

How La Ventana Helps Women Cope with Trauma

La Ventana understands that no two women have the exact same circumstances, and that even a minor difference can require a major shift in care. Because of this, our staff at our Thousand Oaks facility begins the treatment process by performing thorough assessments on new clients. The data that we collect regarding clients’ mental and emotional health will allow us to craft an individualized treatment plan that focuses on therapies that will be most effective for the client and their circumstances. The types of therapy that we offer include psychotherapy, medication management, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), group therapy, family therapy, experiential therapy, EMDR resourcing, and Music in Recovery.

Why We Offer Gender-Specific Treatment

La Ventana’s Women’s Mental Health Residential Program is designed to efficiently and compassionately provide treatment geared towards them. In addition to our individualized treatment plans, we can promote mental health for women by integrating the following services:

  • Increased Focus on Women’s Issues: There are many societal factors and health conditions that are either exclusive to women or primarily affecting women. Dedicating a mental health program to women allows our staff to focus on these women-centric issues.
  • Greater Safety and Security: Victims of sexual assault and domestic abuse require safe spaces to effectively recover. Our women’s mental health residential program is designed to provide women with safe spaces with minimal distractions.
  • Nurturing Environment: Our staff labors to create a sense of community, making clients feel comfortable and welcome to share their experiences and emotions.
  • Addressing Gender-Specific Relapse Risks: Women face relapse challenges that are either unique to women or highly prevalent in women. Our trained staff can provide counsel and treatment to prevent and mitigate these gender-specific complications.

La Ventana is eager to speak with potential clients as well as their families. Our staff is ready to perform free consultations and provide tours of our facilities. We are in-network with many major health insurance companies. And our Non-Binary treatment facility in Thousand Oaks is not gender-specific; we will welcome qualified clients, regardless of gender identity, to seek help at that facility. We urge people interested in addressing their mental illness to contact us by filling out our online form, calling us at (800) 560-8518, or emailing us at admissions@laventanatreatment.com.
