Alcoholism

Please seek help immediately if two or more of these factors apply to you or someone close to you:

  • Multiple failed attempts to reduce or quit alcohol consumption
  • Drinking more than intended or for longer periods than intended
  • Intense cravings for alcohol
  • Excessive amounts of time associated with drinking and/or illnesses pertaining to alcohol aftereffects
  • Multiple instances of drinking leading directly to risky, dangerous behavior such as drunk driving or unsafe sex activities
  • Giving up on pleasurable or fulfilling activities to drink alcohol
  • Increased drinking to achieve the same “buzz” as drinking used to provide
  • Drinking to the point of triggering memory blackouts or other mental disorders
  • Withdrawal symptoms after the effects of alcohol subside
